Half an hour's drive away is the Westerbork Memorial Centre, a former refugee and Nazi transit camp. Here you can learn about life in the camp before, during and after the Second World War.

The Rensenpark
The Rensenpark is Emmen's bustling city park. Here, you can let your children romp around in the large new playground, but there is also a centre for visual arts, a city theatre, a museum of Tibetan art, an arthouse cinema and much more. In short, this park has all the ingredients for a cultural day out.
