There is so much to discover around BuitenLand. Walk through the Bargerveen and visit the sheepfold, discover the sand dunes at Beerze, swim or walk at the clear blue Dankernsee in Germany, or explore the Hondsrug. There is something for everyone!
Bargerveen
The Bargerveen is a unique and expansive nature reserve near BuitenLand. It is enjoyable to visit the sheepfold, where you can pet lambs and rabbits. And the greatest reward is that after a brisk walk, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at Wollegras.
Sand dunes
A 30-minute drive away, you can enjoy beautiful walks across the sand dunes. Start your walk at the Beerzerpoort and follow the hilly path into the sand dunes. It is even possible to take a pram along if you are determined enough.
Dankernsee
A 30-minute drive away is the Dankernsee, a beautiful swimming lake with clear blue water. You can take a lovely walk there in winter and enjoy swimming in summer. There is also a water ski course on the lake.
Hondsrug
BuitenLand is located on the edge of the UNESCO Global Geopark Hondsrug, a unique nature reserve. The ridges and valleys were formed during the Ice Age, and traces of prehistoric man can still be found here. There is so much to discover in this unique piece of nature with its deep secrets and rich history.
